A well-established Assurance, Accounting and Consulting firm with offices across two locations is seeking to employ a Senior Accountant.
The ideal candidate will have an accounting or similar qualification, completed SAIPA/SAICA articles and preferably have supervisory experience. The candidate will work as part of a team but must also be willing to take initiative and capable of working independently.
The firm renders a wide range of services in accordance with its core values and objectives and focuses on small and medium-sized businesses. The firm provides professional services across the Western and Southern Cape region. The two directors are chartered accountants and are registered auditors with the Independent Regulatory Board of Auditors.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare working paper files.
- Fulfill bookkeeping requirements.
- Prepare and monitor the timeous submission of all statutory reports, Provisional Tax calculations, VAT returns, EMP201 returns, CIPC annual returns and Workmen’s Compensation Return of Earnings to the relevant authority bodies.
- Have a basic all-round knowledge of tax.
- Handle a portfolio of clients and their queries efficiently.
- Work remotely from time to time.
- Work well under pressure and be deadline-oriented.
- Perform high-level accounting duties.
- Preparation and Review of management accounts.
- Preparing accounting work relating to annual financial statements.
- Ad hoc accounting and tax work.
- Client interaction and relations.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Degree in Accounting or similar.
- AGA(SA) or PA(SA) preferable.
- Completed SAICA or SAIPA articles.
- Post articles experience preferred.
- Supervisory experience preferred.
- Experience in Caseware, Xero or other accounting packages, eFiling, Excel and Word.
- Own transport
Remuneration:
- R180,000 to R360,000 pa ctc, negotiable on experience.
